Dean Ashton

After all the speculation, we appear to have finally sold Dean to West Ham for around £7m. Obviously that amount of money for a player that's only had half a season in the Premiership is pretty good and us and Crewe have made a pretty decent profit on him, especially seeing as he's never really got going this season. On the other hand though, I think he's one of the most complete strikers we've ever had and we'll seriously miss him. Clearly he wanted to move on and play in the Premiership and, given the current state of affairs at Norwich, who can blame him? The goals he scored to nearly keep us up last season, that flicked goal against Man City and his hat-trick a couple of weeks ago against Southampton were some of the highlights. I think he'll do well at West Ham - good luck Deano.
