Bolton Wanderers 1 Norwich City 0

My first visit to the Reebok Stadium and another ground to add to the list. Have to say I was quite impressed actually - it wasn't as soulless as some of the new breed of grounds and the Bolton fans created a good atmosphere. The view from the top tier was excellent and it was a sunny evening (the game was on Sky so kick-off was at 17:15) so it was nice and warm. I was at the game with Rik and Craig and they were both in the Norwich end with me - Craig was supporting Bolton and was under orders to watch himself if they scored. His dad and uncle were at the game as well (in the right end though), and he managed to quite impressively pick them out with the help of a 'phone call.

The game itself was a bit scrappy. Not a classic by any means and the ball was in the air too much for anyone to play any really good football. Norwich didn't really get anywhere and Bolton seemed happy to keep lumping the ball into the box every time they crossed the halfway line. Near the end of the first-half, Edworthy cleared the ball straight to Giannakopoulos who curled in an absolute screamer into the top right hand corner from the opposite corner of the penalty box. A fantastic goal but the only decent attempt on target of the half. The second-half was much the same as the first; Norwich improved slightly but without really getting anywhere again and Bolton were happy to sit on their lead for the rest of the game which they managed more than comfortably.

So, our fourth defeat in a row and Arsenal and Manchester United up next. Still bottom and still six points behind Palace.
